REVIEW: Urban Decay Electric Palette

Hey, guys! So, I'm finally back to the blogging world after weeks and I must say, I'm super excited! It's just been extremely hard to keep up with my busy schedule, but no more excuses. I'm back and here to stay! Today, I'm going to be reviewing one of the newer palettes by Urban Decay, the Electric Palette.

WHAT IT CLAIMS

It's the ultimate fix for color addicts; 10 of the brightest, most amazing shades you've ever laid eyes on, plus a double- ended brush.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT

I'm not usually a makeup wearer on the daily, let alone such bright colors. But, when I saw this, I just couldn't resist. It swatched amazing, looked absolutely stunning and before I knew it, I was sliding it into my little shopping basket at Sephora. I was so excited to play with this because it's the perfect palette for makeup enthusiasts who want to step away from the neutrals and venture into something more fun.

The shadows come housed in a gorgeous palette, with a magnetic closure, similar to the one in the original first Naked palette. It feels much more luxurious than the Naked palette, though. All of the shades are 'electric' shades; extremely vibrant and eye catching! I'm really happy with the color selection, although I feel as if it would have been that much more perfect if Urban Decay had maybe included a neon yellow and maybe a black.

The shadows aren't really eyeshadows, they're pressed pigments, hence why they're so darn pigmented and opaque to the touch! Unlike the Naked Palettes, these shades barely have any fallout- a definite plus! They glide on smoothly and blend seamlessly. The only color which isn't that pigmented is Revolt- it's more of a shimmer than an actual color. I especially like how the shades are more matte/satin shades rather than just shimmery.

SWATCHES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: REVOLT, GONZO, SLOWBURN, SAVAGE AND FRINGE

SWATCHES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: CHAOS, JILTED, URBAN, FREAK AND THRASH

Like other Urban Decay palettes, this one also comes with a dual- ended brush which is very good quality. I like the smaller side because it's perfect for adding minor detail or even to blend out the lower lashline without ending up with raccoon eyes.

All in all, there isn't really anything I dislike about the palette. Priced at $49 USD, it may seem expensive, but when you break it down to one eyeshadow, it's only $4.90, which is even cheaper than some drugstore eyeshadows. It's a great palette if you love colorful looks or even if you just want to try something new. The Urban Decay Electric Palette definitely receives a thumbs up from me!
