REVIEW: Nars Larger Than Life Long- Wear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte

I really love that whole bright- eyed look, but sometimes white liner on the waterline can be a bit too much for me. I prefer a nude color, which can give me that awake look that I want to achieve, yet still be very subtle. I got the Nars Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte because I'd heard one of my fav beauty gurus on youtube raving about this baby.

WHAT IT CLAIMS

Larger than Life Long- Wear Eyeliner takes liner to the next level. Rich, creamy color that glides on smoothly with a completely budge- proof finish. Incomparable twelve hour wear with no smearing and no caking. Deeply dramatic shades named for the most iconic streets in the world.

- Long- wearing

- Achieves rich, intense color

-Twist up delivery and built in sharpener

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT

Not all of you may know this, but I am a true Narsissist! Even though their products cost me an arm and a leg, I am completely addicted. It's easily one of my favorite high- end brands so when I picked this eyeliner up, I had extremely high hopes for it.

Let's start with the good news. The packaging is really sleek and chic, not unlike everything else that Nars does. I really love that twist up pencil deal because it saves up a lot of product. They also provide a teeny, tiny sharpener to make the end of the liner more precise.

The color selection for all the shades is amazing. I only picked up Rue Bonaparte because I really needed a nude liner for my waterline. It's a nice, pigmented beige color with a matte finish. The liner is super creamy and it goes on like a dream. Sounds pretty amazing so far, right? This is where all the good news ends.

Nars claims that these eyeliners can last up to 12 hours. They are really pushing it with those claims. This liner doesn't even make it past the 4 hour mark on my waterline! I was really hoping that it would last atleast 8 hours, but it starts fading after 2 hours and it's completely gone after the 4th hour mark. It also smudges a little onto my lash line. I was devastated that this eyeliner doesn't stay put because I don't have particularly watery eyes.

I really like to do my research before I buy an expensive product, which is why you may not come across a lot of negative reviews on this blog. However, the Nars Larger Than Life Long- Wear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte is definitely not larger than life nor is it long- wearing. Maybe the other colors might work better along the top lash line, but on the waterline, it's a definite no for me.

The Nars Larger Than Life Long- Wear Eyeliners are priced at USD $24 and you get 0.58 g of product.
