REVIEW: the Balm Mary Loumanizer

Today, I'm going to be reviewing a product that has been a game changer for me. It's the Balm Mary Loumanizer!

Meet Mary Loumanizer, a seemingly innocent honey- hued luminizer that catches everybody's eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow.

Up until trying the Balm Mary Loumanizer, I never really thought too much about highlighters. I thought they were too good to be true for my combination- oily skin so I never really paid much attention to them. For me, they were kind of 'meh' compared to other essentials like foundation or lipstick. Boy, was I wrong.

After coming across countless rave reviews about this product, I decided to get it, against the wishes of my ailing bank account. I'm sure being fellow makeup addicts, you can completely understand the trials and tribulations that we across to satisfy the beauty beast within and also making sure we don't end up bankrupt and on the streets!

Okay, okay. Let's get back to our review. So, I purchased this a couple months ago and I think it's pretty safe to say that I am ADDICTED! This has got to be one of the most beautiful highlighters ever! The formula is perfection; it's creamy and incredibly pigmented. One light tap of your brush in the pan and across your cheekbones and bam! It's a slam dunk in the glowy goddess department!

The Balm Mary Loumanizer is a champagne highlighter with subtle gold undertones which is beautiful against my medium, yellow undertoned skin. This is a seriously shimmery and glowy highlighter. It doesn't contain any chunky bits of glitter or shimmer which could make you look like a disco ball, but it has a very Edward Cullen effect (yes, I just used a Twilight reference and I'm not impressed with myself). It has a beautiful sheen to it.

Although it looks super amazing against my warm undertones, I think this is a universally flattering shade- people with cooler tones will rock this baby as well! Mary Lou lasts a really long time on my combo- oily skin, which is a huge plus for me. One thing that you really have to be careful about when using this is that you just want to pick up the teeniest tiniest amount ever on your brush and blend it in seamlessly. Otherwise, it will accentuate your pores and make them look like craters on your face, which is extremely unflattering- I should know, I've been guilty of that more than once.

I adore how I can just about put this stuff anywhere on my face and it will instantly give me that candlelit, lit from within look. I love to use this on my cheekbones, cupid's bow, inner corners of the eyes and sometimes on the centre of my lips after I've used lipstick to make them look ultra plump. You get so much product in this cute compact that it will take you forever to finish this.

You can purchase the Balm Mary Loumanizer from Is it worth the hefty price tag of $24 USD? YES! I would hands down, recommend this product to anyone looking for a highlighter. Yes, it's expensive but for the amount and quality of product that you're getting, I think it's more than justified. It's probably my favorite highlighter so far!
