REVIEW: MAC Satin Finish Lipstick in Rebel

Today, I'm going to be reviewing one of my favorite lipsticks that's perfect for the fall/ winter time. It's the MAC Satin Finish Lipstick in Rebel.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Color plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street. What made MAC famous. Midtonal cream plum.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: I'm really into bright lips. I think they're incredibly beautiful and feminine. I was inspired by one of my favorite instagram makeup artists, Whitney Hays, to get this shade. She wears very bright, dark lips most of the time and she can definitely rock this shade. It looked so incredibly gorgeous on her that the moment I found out it was this lipstick, I knew I just had to have it.

This color is definitely not for the faint hearted. It's a beautiful, deep plummy, berry color. It's a cross between a red, fuchsia and purple color. It definitely pulls more purple/ fuchsia on my lips. It's a very vampy color, perfect for the fall and winter season.

The lipstick comes housed in the standard MAC packaging with the familiar faint, vanilla scent. I love the packaging because it's very chic and sturdy.

Rebel is a satin finish lipstick. It's not as drying as a matte lipstick, but it does still dry out my lips and therefore, applying a balm beforehand is necessary. This lipstick is SO pigmented! I just need a maximum of two swipes to achieve opacity.

Not only does this lipstick have excellent color payoff, it also has amazing staying power. Out of my entire collection, this lipstick lasts by far, the longest on my lips and I have a horrible habit of licking my lips! It easily lasts for more than five hours, staining my lips as it fades. It does fade unevenly though, vanishing first from the inner parts of my lips.

As with all bright, pigmented lipsticks, migration is always an issue. Therefore, it's extremely necessary to use a lip liner. Unless of course, you don't mind lipstick on the side of your chin by the end of the night.

PRICE AND AMOUNT: This is priced at USD $15 and it contains 3 grams or 0.1 US oz of product.

AVAILABILITY: This is available at all MAC stores and it's part of the permanent collection. You can also buy this directly from www.maccosmetics.com. People in Pakistan can purchase this from MAC Addict for a very reasonable price.
