REVIEW: MAC's Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby

Hey, guys! I know I'm posting after a really long time (for me, anyway) but I've just been super busy with my midterms at college and after that, I went on a little vacation. I'm back now and in full swing to write up more posts for my blog. Today, I'm going to be reviewing one of my first high end blushes, the MAC Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Color for the cheeks and face. Various formulas. Different looks. Beige- pink (sheertone).

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: I've heard a lot about MAC blushes, especially Blushbaby. It's a very talked about blush and at first, I couldn't figure out why that was, but after a couple of uses, I've learned to love this little baby a lot.

Blushbaby is a very sheer, dusty, brownish pink color. It is a gorgeous color and it would look amazing on people with very pale to medium skin tones. I imagine people with darker skin tones would have trouble getting this to show up on their skin since it is so sheer. This is a very natural color that can be worn every single day without looking like a drag queen. Since it is such a subtle color, I especially like to wear this when I'm going for a very intense smokey eye or a very dramatic lip. It's perfect when you want to add just a hint of color without looking like you just came from clown camp.

The texture of this blush is very soft and I can tell by the feel of it that it's very finely milled. It blends beautifully into the skin and is very buildable. As I mentioned above, since it's so sheer, it needs to be built up on medium and darker skin tones. However, I've noticed that if I try to build it up too much, it makes my face look a little muddy. So, there is definitely a limit as to how much I can layer this blush.

It lasts for about 4 to 5 hours on my skin after which it needs to be reapplied.

PRICE AND AMOUNT: This is priced at USD $21.00 and it contains 6 grams or 0.21 US oz of product.

AVAILABILITY: I got mine from Agha's Super Store, but you can definitely get it for cheaper from some reliable facebook stores or even a MAC store, if it's available to you.

-It shows up well on your light to medium skin

-It has a nice, soft texture

-It blends beautifully

-It is buildable (to a certain extent)

-Lasting power is average

-It doesn't show up on your skin

-It makes you look muddy

-You expect it to last longer

OVERALL VIEW: This blush is a nice treat if you don't mind splurging for it. Do you absolutely need this in your life? No. I think it's one of those blushes that are nice to have in your collection, but you life won't end if you don't have it. There are definitely other alternatives out there that are more pigmented and can be sheered down to look natural, like this blush.

Have you tried MAC's Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby? What do you think of it?
