REVIEW: Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser

I am guilty of neglecting my skin a lot. I have combo/ oily skin and I always thought that anything that claimed to minimize pores/ control oils/ keep me shine free was gimmick-y. I've only recently started paying more attention to my skin and the products that I incorporate into my skincare routine.

I picked up the Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser a while back because Neutrogena is a very famous brand among people with oily and acne prone skin.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser is an effective yet gentle treatment. The oil- free formula gently cleanses deep down into pores for clear skin. Unlike ordinary cleansers, it contains Salicylic Acid to get rid of acne you have now and help prevent future breakouts. Special skin soothers help prevent irritation and overdrying. Skin is left clean without a heavy residue- and never oily.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: I got this as a free gift when I bought some other stuff from Neutrogena. I didn't even think about using it until I ran out of my favorite face wash and this was just sitting there, begging me to use it. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised just after the first use.

Since I have oily skin with the occasional breakouts, this is perfect for me. The Salicylic Acid does effectively treat minor breakouts, however don't expect any drastic results. Due to the presence of Salicylic Acid, the Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser can be a little drying. In the summer, this didn't really bother me but now that the winter is approaching, I have to use a really intensive moisturizer with this otherwise it can severely overdry my skin.

It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and it is super effective in deep cleaning my pores and unclogging them. Usually, after I use my regular face wash, I still get some dirt and impurities on my cotton pad when I use a toner. With this, I don't have any extra impurities or dirt on my skin. That is a huge plus point in my book.

This cleanser leaves my skin feeling refreshed and just squeaky clean. It does control the oils on my skin to a certain extent, but it's nothing too crazy. It comes in a huge tube and since you only need to use a little bit each time, the tube will last you a long time.

PRICE AND AMOUNT: It is priced at $5.99 USD and it contains 6.7 fl oz or 200 mL of product.

AVAILABILITY: This is available at all stores and supermarkets which carry Neutrogena.

-It effectively cleans the skin and removes impurities

-It controls oil decently

-It treats minor breakouts

-It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth

-You have oily skin and clears the skin of all the oils

-You have normal to dry skin and it can be overdrying

-You expect it to clear major acne and show drastic results

OVERALL VIEW: This is a great cleanser for those people who have oily skin but no major breakouts. It might not be as effective for people with major acne and those with dry skin might find it too drying. I personally like it for my oily skin. Have you tried the Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser? What do you think of it?
