REVIEW: Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color

Ahh, yes! I'm sure all of you have heard of the brand Wet n Wild. They used to be really hot for their pretty nail colors, but they're recently stepped up their game and released quite a few amazing makeup products. I was really excited when I saw the their Mega Last Lip Color and I knew I had to get my hands on them.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, long wearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, creme finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather or bleed. Made with hydrating skin care ingredients: Hyaluronic microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A and E help smooth lips.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: I got this in the color 906D Wine Room. I bought it online and the thing with online shopping is that you can never be too sure of the color and how it's going to show up on your lips. I thought Wine Room would be much lighter than it really is, but it turned out to be a really pretty, deep berry color. It's too dark to wear in the daylight and it is a more mature color so I really wouldn't recommend this to people who are into the whole "my lips but better" look or people who are quite young. However, it would look absolutely gorgeous during the night time, so it's definitely something to keep in your purse if you're going clubbing or even just a simple dinner.

The packaging is just okay. It's sturdy but it looks a bit cheap, but then again that's to be expected. The lipstick itself does not fully retract into the tube, so while it makes it easier to shop for the colors as you'll be able to see them, it can get a bit annoying because you can nick the top of the lipstick if you're not careful while taking the top off. God knows I've done that a few times.

It has a typical lipstick-y scent, but it's nothing too over the top. In fact, you can't even notice it when it's on your lips.

Application was a tad troublesome. This lipstick is drying! If you don't have a moisturizing balm underneath, you are going to end up with chapped lips, but that's to be expected with any matte lipstick. It has a matte finish (not semi-matte) and I adore it for that, because I love matte finishes. It also does have a slight tendency to sink and emphasize the fine lines of your lips, but that's nothing a good lip balm underneath won't cure. Now here's the really good part. This baby lasts ALL day! Okay, so maybe that's an exaggeration, but it really does last quite a long time, say 5-6 hours. Last but definitely not the least, it's EXTREMELY pigmented! One swipe is enough to get all the color onto your lips.

PRICE AND AMOUNT: It's priced around $2-3 USD, depending on where you get it from. I got this for 625 PKR, which I think is quite reasonable, considering the cost of shipping. You get 0.11 oz of product.

AVAILABILITY: I got this from BeautyInBudget4U. I haven't seen this in any stores in Pakistan yet. I don't think this is available in Europe either, but even if you order this online, it would still be pretty inexpensive. For people in the US and Canada, you can pick this up from drugstores which carry Wet n Wild.

Some of the colors like this one, may be a bit drying, but with a nice balm underneath, these lipsticks are just sensational! With this price, you definitely can't go wrong. Have you tried these lipsticks? What do you think? x
