REVIEW: Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze

Revlon is a cult- favorite drugstore brand. It has an amazing reputation for putting out high quality makeup which is quite comparable to high-end makeup. It may even be better than some high-end makeup sometimes.

I purchased the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze on a whim only because I had some money to blow and I was standing by the Revlon counter. Read on to find out what I think about it!

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze is Revlon's first longwearing lip gloss that lasts for up to eight hours.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: Eight hours, huh? Oh Revlon, what an impossible claim you have made! There's really not a lipgloss in this entire universe that could last up to eight hours. It's just highly unlikely, given the texture and formula of lipglosses

Anyway, down to the product. The packaging is quite nice, it looks very high-end. The tube is plastic and in the shape of an hourglass. I like the packaging, it looks very chic. It has a standard doe foot sponge applicator.

The product itself is quite thick and sticky, I think that's why it's longwearing. It's not too overly sticky when you put it on, but it does go on to be more tackier the longer you wear it. Your hair could get caught in it, if you're not careful. Also, given that it is sticky, it's also drying so you will need some moisture on your lips before you put on the lipgloss. I don't know if it's the particular shade that I got which is this sticky or if all of the lipglazes are the same. On the lips, the product does last about 3-4 hours before you need a touch up.

It also has a really weird, fake smell. I'm not someone who is very scent sensitive, but I was put off by the plastic scent. It's very strong. However, it does disappear after some time.

I got the shade Perennial Pink/ Rose Vivace. It's a bright, barbie pink which has almost a purplish hue to it. It's also contains some microshimmer. I am about a MAC NC 35- 37 and this does look a tad bright on my lips, but at the same time, it's flattering.

PRICE AND AMOUNT: This was 1250 PKR, which is around $10- 12 USD. You get 0.15 fl oz or 4.4 mL.

AVAILABILITY: I bought this from Scentsation Dolmen Mall Clifton. You can also get this from other Revlon counters. It can also be purchased from or For folks in USA, you can pick this up from your local CVS or any other drugstore where Revlon is sold.

- It is longwearing, compared to other lipglosses

- It comes with a nice shade range

-It is readily available

- The packaging is really nice

- It is sticky

- It has an annoying smell

- It's a bit expensive for a drugstore lipgloss

- The shade you bought does not look good on your skin tone

OVERALL VIEW: While the color of the lipglazes are really pretty, I don't think I'll be repurchasing just because I can't get over how sticky it is. Plus, I think that it is expensive, especially for a product which really isn't all that. I'm sure there are better lipglosses out there. What do you make of the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglazes?
